2024 SAS STEM Day
STEM Day was a major success for SAS.

In summer of 2024, SAS hosted a two day activity from June 3rd to June 4th at Laneview Elementary School. SAS members, staff, and high school volunteers helped elementary schoolers build their own STEM projects: solar powered jittery bugs (grades K/1), battery powered skateboards (grades 2/3), and motorized drones (grades 4/5).
In total, there were 400 total students participating with over 30 high school volunteers. Much preparation was done for this event in advance, and special thanks to Morrill and Sierramont middle school SAS students and Mr. Bill van Zuylen who assisted with preparation and prototype testing. After the event, SAS garnered feedback from teachers who spectated and were invited to organize more STEM days in the future. Overall, STEM day was a major success, and SAS plans many more to come.
